Voices of the World Project

Students from Mrs. Ross’ fifth grade class created a slide show blending original art work and voice with a message for the New Year. First they drew pictures representing the school, the location, peace, hope, love, joy, and one to represent the message of a song of peace. Next the pictures were scanned and inserted into a Powerpoint slide show. Students recorded their voices on each slide. We recorded a fifth grade music class singing a song of peace with music teacher, Scott Tarantino at the piano. The Powerpoint slideshow was place in Slideboom, a Web 2.0 tool. The Slideboom show was embedded in the Voices of The World wikispace with all the other participants. The results are below. The November task was taken on by students in Mrs. Alves fifth grade class.They created pictures of our school, our country, and the proverb “All for One and One For All”. The pictures were scanned and put into Powerpoint. Then we used MyPlick to upload the slideshow and record the narration.

Ms. Jones’ second grade class took on the October challenge of creating a Voki to introduce Heights Elementary School to the world.
